Bar none, This was the best concert I have ever heard in my life! No special effects, no smoke n mirrors, no fancy showman tricks, just plain great music... I got to meet them as me and one of my best friends had won a meet and greet with them and got my photo taken with them its on my myspace artist page. http://www.myspace.com/christinehagar/p ... 6011057%7D My freinds picture didnt do so well, after I photoshop it I will post it too, that was a day he said he will remember for the rest of his life.. When I met them I tried not to just say "I love your music" but what else could I say. My brother and I joked the night before about what I should say being Im not much having great conversations with folks until I get to know em better...LOL...I asked my brother what should I say...and laughed..and we came up with asking them what kind of motor oil they use.. He said they will never forget that question, that was a funny one that we selected out of a whole bunch of meaningless funny crazy questions that we came up with to try and give Kansas a laugh.. We thought that many questions come and go in a fog of same- ilarity to the point where they just say yeah to whatever... We wanted to ask them a goofy question they had never ever heard before that would give them a laugh to last awhile.. ( OR I could pitch my songwriting, but with Kansas, that would be like a girl in a high school garage band telling Bach, Hey have I got a song for you..Ha ha-I write good music but I love Kansas writing Kansas not Christine writing Kansas LOL!!!! that made me laugh too...) I was so dumbfounded when I met them I did not remember the motor oil question that had me and my brother howling with laughter the night before...I was in awe, to me this was kinda me getting to take the place of being the conductor for the London Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra getting to go back in time and meet Bach and Beethoven all in the same day and be photographed with em as a souvenir of a most special day..
I did get to ask Steve Walsh if they played in Wichita Ks years ago at Riverside Park, and he said they did and it was with Aerosmith... I did not remember Aerosmith, I kept remembering for years Steve Walsh pounding on the keyboard like it could get away...they called em synthesizers back then..LOL anyway for me not to remember Aerosmith, that testifies to the greatness of Kansas and the weed we smoked back then, both very wonderful things!...LOL! Those were some great times..you all remember those days? ha ha ha...
The meet and greet was a fast thing, that went way too fast, but I will forever be greatful to have got to see them and shake thier hands... Long story short Kansas rocked Clemmons NC, that place was changed forever..and so was I getting to hear them play so many of my favorite songs live... When me and a friend went to hear them in Cary NC, they were great, but it just didnt last long enough for them to get wound up and to do what I love them for, but when we heard them rock that show in Clemmons that was the best! Not to mention getting to stand near those guys that still look great as ever, and get my photo made with them... I will hang the photo on the wall when I can quit staring at it..LOL...I cant help it, they still look great! The heat there however was oppressive, lots of women and me too had thier mascara under thier eyes..ha ha ha ....LOL (not funny) yes I can see you laughing!!! but would I do it again? Sit in the hot sun for hours to see em again? ABSOLUTELY!!! I will be going to see them in Wichita on Sept 18th with Wichita State's symphony when I go home to see my family in KS, I am so excited, and can hardly wait to see them there at home... Ok that's my book written for the day...ha ha ha!!!! Love and Hugs, KansasGirl aka Christine Hagar
