You've also confirmed just how silly John looked, and how it was very difficult for those of us who loved and supported this band to handle the live image of John in the place of Steve.
Not all of us "who loved and supported this band" necessarily feel the same way as Louis in regard to the image John portrayed in his tenure as lead vocalist for Kansas. John catches a lot of heat for the blue jumpsuit that he wore in the MTV concert in Omaha, as well as for his infamous shadow boxing routine, but when you think about it, he was, to quote himself, "just a singer in the band", a rock band, where there has never been a dress code to adhere to. Perhaps if he wore a sweeping silk robe complete with angel wing sleeves and cut to his navel or better yet, overalls and a crumpled up cowboy hat, John might have actually been "accepted" by the real Kansas fans. Hmmm, silk and denim....that sounds a lot like our beloved Kerry and Rich.
Look at how Loverboy singer and Billy Squier and others dressed and acted then, 1980's for ya.
