I see from other posts that there were some wheatheads other than me at this concert. The band was awesome, I still can't believe they opened for 38 Special rather than being the headline but it worked out for me because I was traveling up to VA TECH after the concert. Enough about me, the band was right on, Steve's voice was excellent, Billy as a front man did his thing and the crowd responded, especially after several songs he said "good night", that got everyone's attention!! There was a rather large crowd even at 6:30 on a Wednesday, I stood next to several younger guys (aren't they all now!) and they were into the band and knew all of the music not just the hits.......It was a wonderful night and KANSAS blew the crowd away, especially Dust and COWS but the musicianship was spot on throughout. I have had, for me a long dry spell of seeing Kansas live, but I can tell you without a doubt....don't hesitate, if they come anywhere near you, GO SEE THEM!!!!

I was there as well that night. My son and I traveled from the Greensboro NC area so it didn't bother us either that Kansas opened. From what I understand about that, Kansas WAS the headliner but for some reason, they swaped places with 38 Special. According to the Innsbrook FB page, both bands played full sets that night.

I agree, the band was spot on that evening. Was interesting looking back seeing Derek working the FOH mix position with Chad during the last few songs. I understand Derek had to fill in for Chad at the Friday night KY concert, so he was getting the feel for the FOH board.

Thanks for the review, guys, appreciate your jotting down your thoughts on behalf of us KansasFans.

You were on the money, kshim2000, that's exactly correct. Jeremy, their truck driver, was covering the monitors mix while Derek was FOH in place of Chad the following show so I'm sure that was about getting re-acclimated with the necessary equipment.

Peace,
Alex
